Lodz, Poland - The final chapter in the rivalry between Riddick “Ridickulous” Bowe and Andrew “Nut Punch” Golota is set for November 3rd in Lodz, Poland for the Rivalry Championship Wrestling “World Extreme Champion Emeritus of the World” world title of the world.

FighBeat is naturally thrilled about this and is throwing considerable journalistic resources behind coverage of this bout.

But why Poland rather than the USA or another Euro heavyweight country such as Germany? We spoke to sources close to the bout for answers.

Poland is considered the best country to stage such as bout for a number of reasons.

Firstly, the immense popularity of Riddick Bowe amongst the Polish community is well known. Bowe has reportedly capitalised on this by selling juniper berries from a roadside stall outside of Warsaw for many years.

The Polish national food is said to be another key to the bout being held in Poland, with both men reportedly enjoying such delicacies as “Serce Wolowe w Sosie”, or braised beef heart along with boiled pig testicles and turnip for dessert.

That said, the rules for this bout are currently a mystery. It is believed that asphyxiation is banned, however low blows are encouraged. For this reason, Andrew Golota is a red hot favourite with the bookies.

FightBeat will be covering this bout in the leadup, with numerous feature articles. Stay tuned for updates here, or discuss in our boxing forums
